B (doesn't) meet Gestuz
So another one from our little Danish family from across the pond (or big cold sea rather). Again a bit further afield and a bigger brand in their market, so to ' B Transparent' one we haven't actually met the founder of to properly interview. So you'll have to make do with our own B Bio for now. A bonus is we can actually say the name of this one, yes!
Gestuz was founded by Sanne Sehested Nielsen in 2007. She had the creative vision to combine effortless, elegant style with something a bit edgy but still feminine. Sanne's aim was create more unique every day pieces, in lux textures, at affordable premium prices. We thought we'd seen the brand around before years ago, but then it seemed to drop of our radar, now its back with full leather, floral and texture force.
Think beautiful pieces, wardrobe hero's and unexpected details. This is the beauty of Danish brands they capture style with a bit of a twist, not trends. We love something a bit different but also things that we can invest in and pull out year after year.
Now why are we buying a few more known brands to sit alongside our independents, well we've chosen specially a small few that are newer and offer something different to fit in with our style. To us Gestuz is not so know over here. They also offer something a bit more unique than British premium brands of a similar level (no offence Reiss you're just not cutting the remoulade - Danish condiment similar to mustard). Quality is good, product is good, price is in line with premium expectations, so good in our eyes.
Basically, Gestuz is satisfying our need for style over trend and fulfils our need to buy better, buy less, love more and love longer.
That Leather Jumpsuit will be coming out until I physically have to stop wearing it for some reason, I mean come on, a great shape and amazing quality leather, I seriously thought the price would be double. Same goes for the beautiful Kate Leather Jacket with detachable burnt orange fur collar but I can't see myself ever detaching - from the collar or the jacket. The burgundy Marley Dress I will wear non stop dressed up or over jeans, same for the Leopard Christine Dress with those fab frills. Plus the Asta Boyfriend Check Blazer is like the best friend we never know we were missing, and you never get tired of best friends.
And that burgundy Dehla Faux Fur Coat, that we refer to as heaven in a coat, I will LIVE IN all winter. Just imagine it outside at a winter market with a mulled wine, or coming in to the pub to a glass of red greeting you - yes I like to match drinks to my winter outfits.
Okay we are biased Annie (or biased B rather) but Gestuz is just great pieces we know we'll want to wear year after year! The kind of things we're willing to pay a bit more for when we know we'll wear and know not everyone else will have (how many of the same Zara coats do you see people in). B unique. B you.
